Shaikh urges for broader tax net

ARACHI: Finance Minister Adbul Hafeez Shaikh has sought cooperation of the business community to broaden the tax net and revenue generation from all sectors of economy equally.

“There is also a need to eliminate undue tax exemptions,” the minister said while talking to a group of the representatives of business community and office bearers of Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) here on Sunday.

He underlined the need to devise a mechanism to curb smuggling under the Afghan Transit Trade (ATT).

He stated that people who are earning should pay their due share of taxes.
