Democracy as a system must continue: Shahbaz

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Tuesday said that by not implementing the Supreme Court’s orders, the federal government had ridiculed the country’s judiciary, DawnNews reported.

Speaking to media representatives in Lahore, Sharif said the prime minister’s decision to appear before the apex court was a positive development. However, he added, this government has a history of disregarding court orders.

He moreover referred to corruption allegations against the president which he said were “common knowledge”.

However, the provincial chief minister said that regardless of the current government’s “incompetence and corrupt practices”, democracy as a system of governance must continue..... Funfrooz.com
